There are many unofficial Karajan recordings in existence often providing memorable documents of unique events. Consisting mainly of off-air radio broadcasts and even "in-house" recordings they were never intended for official release. However, they often captured the excitement and that special magic of a live performance and as such are valuable additions to the Karajan recorded legacy.
